There is still plenty of time to have your say in Isle of Man Post Office's (IOMPO) public consultation on the future of letter and parcel deliveries and post office services in the community.
To date, more than 2,000 people have responded to the 'Modernising Isle of Man Post Office' consultation which launched in mid-August and closes on the 2nd October 2018. However, IOMPO would welcome more people to take the time to get involved and would like to actively encourage young people, who have grown up with online shopping, to give their views on their delivery preferences for this Post Office service and any others they may use.
Next Monday (24th September), IOMPO Board Member Jane O'Rourke will be visiting Douglas Post Office in Strand Street, Douglas between 11.30am-12.30pm to chat to customers about the consultation, discuss their opinions and suggestions on services and to encourage even more local residents to take the time to have their say.
The consultation on IOMPO's core services forms an important of the business' strategy to help address its challenges as the online digital revolution is changing the way people communicate and how and where they choose to buy their goods and services. These changes are impacting the postal industry globally as fewer letters are being sent, and fewer people are using post offices than ever before, while parcel deliveries and returns increase as more people shop online. IOMPO is working to address these issues and with public support, develop a modern Post Office fit for the future.
The feedback from the consultation will allow the business to understand public opinion surrounding its challenges and how it may adapt its existing services and grow new services in line with customer demand and affordability. It will also inform the strategic choices IOMPO will put forward for Tynwald approval in December.
The consultation is open to Isle of Man residents, businesses, organisations and IOMPO clients and can be completed on the Government Consultation Hub or paper copies are available from all post offices and other local outlets – for a full list please visit here.
Completed paper consultations can be returned to any post office or by freepost to:
