Isle of Man Post Office attends this week's Small Posts & Islands Forum being hosted by Royal Gibraltar Post

Representatives from the Isle of Man Post Office Senior Management team will this week attend the Small Posts & Islands Postal Forum in Gibraltar. The three day event being hosted by Royal Gibraltar Post Office will provide Island and other Small Postal Administrations from across the globe with opportunities to explore common current challenges and to share best practice and expertise with one another.

The Forum was first introduced in 2013 by Isle of Man Post Office, which won the 'Freedom to Flourish' award at the 2013 'Awards for Excellence' for its innovation in organising and hosting the Inaugural Small Posts & Islands Forum event in the Isle of Man. It was the Inaugural Forum last year that attracted delegates from around the world to come to the Isle of Man and its success has led to the desire of Royal Gibraltar Post Office to carry on the initiative by hosting another event this year.

This year's event runs from the ninth until the twelfth of June and is being held at the O'Callaghan Eliot Hotel, Gibraltar. The Forum will be opened by the Chief Minister of Gibraltar, Fabian Picardo MP and David Ledger, CEO of Royal Gibraltar Post Office.

The invitation only event is aimed at key decision makers and senior officials from Island and Small Postal Administrations around the globe, this year has attracted delegates from Greenland, Faroe Islands, Iceland, Åland, Mauritius and Jersey in addition to Gibraltar and the Isle of Man to name just a few.

Lisa Duckworth, Commercial Director of Isle of Man Post Office said: "We were delighted with the success of last year's Inaugural Small Posts & Islands Forum which was initiated by us and also in the fact that it won the 'Award for Excellence' in the 'Freedom to Flourish' category during 2013. All Island and Small Postal Administrations face similar challenges; therefore an event of this nature allows these Posts to come together to exchange ideas, identify issues, opportunities, trends and common themes. We look forward to attending this year's Forum kindly hosted by the Royal Gibraltar Post Office and I am confident that not only will it be another successful event, but also that it will be extremely useful for all of the delegates attending from Postal Administrations around the world."
