Isle of Man Stamps and Coins and the Royal British Legion join together to mark the centenary anniversary of WWI with a Trench Warfare set

To commemorate the landmark centenary anniversary of World War I (WWI) Isle of Man Stamps and Coins has linked up with the Royal British Legion to produce a set of six stamps depicting life in the trenches. This sheet is part of the four year series stretching from 2014 to 2017 to mark the period of WWI.

Pay and Post terminal kiosk repositioned

Isle of Man Post Office recently moved its self-service Pay and Post Sea Terminal kiosk to a more central position within the entrance area. The move was prompted as a result of feedback from customers that it acted upon following comment that its original position was difficult to locate.

Despite atrocious weather conditions and challenging mail volumes the post still got through in time for Christmas

Isle of Man Post Office’s Mails division experienced a sustained three week period of high daily mail volumes over the festive season. This is a challenge in itself, but two thirds of all items for delivery come via the UK and the appalling weather caused havoc with mail despatches to the Island and this just added to the task. Still the business managed to pull out all the stops and got all of its parcels and cards delivered in time for Christmas.

Island of Culture 2014 and stamp collection exhibition launched

On Monday afternoon Isle of Man Stamps and Coins and key representatives from the Post Office attended the official launch of the Island of Culture 2014 and stamp collection exhibition at the Villa Marina. The exhibition available to the public includes a collection of stamps reflective of eight cultural topics and will last for three weeks.
