Celebrating the 50th anniversary of Apollo XVII, the last time man set foot on the moon, this commemorative sheetlet displays three stamps and three postage paid labels depicting the Apollo programme. The decorative borders display the crew of Apollo XVII; Gene Cernan, Ronald Evans and Harrison Schmitt, as well as key times and events of the lunar mission.
The sheetlet is presented within a folder and features text by Howard Parkin BSc FRAS, astronomer and space historian.
We dedicate this issue to the crews of Apollo I and Space Shuttles Challenger and Columbia, who gave their lives in the quest for human space flight. Their sacrifice is part of a great leap forward for humanity, our return to the Moon and on to Mars.
