Purchasing Special Delivery - Next Day
Special Delivery - Next Day is available to residential customers through the posting counter at Postal Headquarters and to commercial customers through Click and Dispatch and Business Solutions Franking.
*Items must be posted at the customer counter by no later than 3pm and for commercial customers we must be notified that there are Special Delivery - Next Day items by 1pm
Special Delivery - Two Day by 5.30pm^
The benefits of using Special Delivery - Two Day by 5.30 are:
- Full online tracking
- Signature on delivery
- £750 compensation as standard with additional compensation of up to £2,500 available
- No minimum weight and up to 20kg maximum weight

Special Delivery can purchased from one of the conveniently located sub-post offices Island-wide or from our delivery offices in Douglas and Ramsey. Customs Declarations
From Friday 1st January 2021, the requirement for accurate customs documentation for items containing goods sent to Rest of World addresses will also apply to European destinations and the Channel Islands. When mailing items containing goods to outside of the UK, you will need to accurately complete and sign a customs declaration. If using Special Delivery to send items to the Channel Islands, you will need to to complete a customs declaration.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I buy consequential loss coverage?
Isle of Man Post Office does not offer compensation for consequential loss on any of its services.
Can I have something delivered on Saturday?
Special Delivery items are delivered on a Saturday however, Saturday delivery cannot be accepted for some businesses including:
- Banks
- Building societies
- Travel agents
- Jewellers
- Post Office branches.

What size and weight can my Special Delivery item be?
The maximum weight limit for Special Delivery guaranteed by 1pm items is 20kg. The maximum weight limit for Special Delivery guaranteed by 9am items is 2kg.
The maximum size 610 x 460 x 460mm. Maximum size for rolls etc is length plus two times the diameter must be no greater than 1040mm with a length of no more than 900mm.
Can I get a refund if my item is not delivered on time?
Yes. Customers have up to 12 months to claim if your item is not delivered on time we'll refund your money providing you have your proof of posting. If your item gets lost or damaged while it's in our care, you can make a claim for compensation.
How will I know it's been delivered?
When we deliver your item we'll collect a signature to confirm receipt. We then update our online Track & Trace tool with details of the delivery time and date.
Where in the UK do we deliver?
Guaranteed delivery by 9.00am is only available:
- To the UK using the Next Day service
- In the Isle of Man to postcodes IM1 and IM99.
Guaranteed delivery on Saturdays is available as standard where applicable and does not require any special indicia or additional payment
- Delivery is guaranteed by 9.00am or 1.00pm, Monday to Saturday using the next Day service (with some geographical limitations).
