Service Updates
Details of changes to all postal services.
Isle of Man Post Office remains committed to providing customers with the best possible service and will continue to provide updates on any service changes as and when they arise. However, there are some changes which are listed below:
Deliveries
Letter deliveries will continue to be made five days a week (Mon-Fri) with parcels six days (Mon-Sat). IOMPO has for some time limited customer interaction with its postal workers by not handing over its hand-held devices to capture their signature, instead logging the name of the recipient. Furthermore, where a parcel is being delivered which will not fit through a letterbox, postal staff are placing the item at doorsteps, where it is safe to do so. If there is no area safe to leave a parcel, postal staff are leaving a ‘while you were out’ card advising of other ways customers can arrange to get their item. The collection period for any items retained at notice left collection sites will remain at 23 days. If customers are self-isolating and unable to leave their house they can arrange a redelivery of the item instead by visiting www.iompost.com/redelivery. Customers can also choose to collect their 'while you were out' item from an alternative collection site using the same link.
Number of International Destinations 'On Suspension'
Royal Mail have announced that there are significant delays in delivering items to a number of countries right now due to a lack of available transport links and suspension of certain country’s postal operations. They strongly advise not to send items to these destinations which are listed as ‘On suspension’ on their website. For a full list of these countries please use this link.
There is also disruption to the Parcelforce network. Information relating to this can be found here.
Inbound Special Delivery, Parcelforce24 and Tracked Services
Inbound Special Delivery, Parcelforce24 and Tracked items are being accepted as normal, however, whilst we endeavour to deliver all items on the day of receipt this may not possible in all cases. Customers who receive an automated SMS that their item is ‘out for delivery,’ should accept this as confirmation that their item has arrived on Island, and IOMPO will endeavour to get the item delivered as soon as possible.
