Job Description
The Change Delivery Team is seeking to recruit a permanent full-time Lead Developer; this key appointment
will assume the technical lead for software design, development and coding standards meeting stakeholder
requirements whilst ensuring that key strategic projects are completed on time and within budget. The
successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a software developer, preferably in a
senior/leading role with a proven track record of delivering projects within software development lifecycles
and project frameworks.
The Person
We are looking for somebody who:
- Will lead the conversion of legacy software systems to Azure Cloud
- Has experience in C# and/or Java
- Has experience in JavaScript, CSS, HTML
- Has an excellent understanding of APIs, web services, XML/JSON, microservices, design patterns.
- Has excellent problem solving skills
- Is a good presenter with influencing skills to manage and negotiate complex conflict resolutions
- Experience of mentoring and coaching
Key Skills
Main Responsibilities include:
- Input into and support the development of the Isle of Man Post Office IT strategy.
- Work with senior stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate these into technical requirements for the development team.
- Leading, directing, development and approval of IT solution designs to business requirements and problems.
- Lead technical projects, for example, the conversion of legacy software and applications to Azure Cloud based solutions.
- Planning development work streams on projects and programmes, assigning and delegating tasks to team members, ensuring milestones and deadlines are achieved.
- Directing the development team in the design, development, coding, testing, and debugging of applications.
- Writing testable, scalable, efficient and secure code and leading code reviews.
Pay will be commensurate to experience on the applicable rate for the role and commences at £47,396.38 to £55,082.28. Further information is available from Adam Walker, Head of Change Delivery, adam.walker@iompost.com
