Freedom of Information (FOI) legislation gives you the right of access to information held by public authorities.
Freedom of Information came into effect for Isle of Man Post Office on Saturday 1st July 2017.
Before you make a request
There is already a lot of information made available publicly. You may find the answer to your question on the Isle of Man Post Office website before you make a request.
We will publish anonymised responses to Freedom of Information (FOI) requests on our website. Once information is issued to you in response to your Freedom of Information request, it is then considered to be publicly available.
Information we publish online may be treated as exempt under section 20, information accessible to applicant by other means.
If the information you are requesting is already publicly available, your request may be refused, however, we have a duty to advise and assist you to locate the information you are seeking.
You might not need to make an FOI request to get the information you need. We might be able to give you information straight away eg over the phone.
You can read more about FOI on the Isle of Man Government website.
